Why Pam Bondi was Always Bound to Fail
This week, I want to talk about Pam Bondi's firing. When she first got hired, a lot of people were confused about why she would be added to the Trump Regime, rightfully so, I mean, his administration goes to eliminate everyone but the white American man, so why would Trump employ a woman in his administration? Not only that, but why such a high-stakes role?
When we look at Bondi, we have to understand she wasn't just a "qualified hire," she was a longtime loyalist to the Trump regime and a key member when it came to Trump's personal defense team during his first impeachment. However, as we've seen with the recent ousting of Kristi Noem at Homeland Security, loyalty doesn't always guarantee you a permanent seat at the table espically when you are a liability.
While Trump has openly praised Pam Bondi as a "Great American Patriot," it's really more complex behind the scenes. For one, Bondi faced a lot of heat when it came to the way the Epstein files were handled, After teasing the exsistence of the files and a flight log along with the client list in a Fox News interview, she was later accused of withholding these documents and when they were released there was a heavy use of redactions, now you are probably wondering why the Epstein files are important in this instace and how it could cause a fallout with her boss.
Trump ran his campaign on releasing these files; he stated multiple times that he was going to drain the swamp and hold every person accountable. Well, now this makes Bondi's job a little difficult espically when her boss is in almost every page, picture, and email. This is important because, due to Bondi's terrible management of these files, the House Oversight Committee would later subpoena these files. This now puts Trump and Bondi in a terrible posotion not only does it prove what has been known, but it shows that the president has something to hide, and the person who is over-releasing these files (Pam Bondi) made this obviously clear from basically dodging the bullet every time questions about the files were being shot at her.
Although this was a factor, we also have to revisit what she was hired for. Bondi is a loyalist, and when you stray from being loyal and getting your boss everything he wants, frustration grows and puts you on thin ice. Trump had frustration with Bondi's DOJ due to the fact she was unable to secure indictments against his political rivals, and this was a breaking point becasue in Trump's viewpoint, if you cannot be loyal and go after the people I despise, what can you do?
Bondi is now being replaced by another former Trump defense attorney, but the question is, will this be a permanent seat or will this one too be exchangeable? Bondi's story is a prime example that at the end of the day,y you can be the most faithful soldier in the room, but in an administration built on "alpha-male" rhetoric, you are still a woman and in his eyes that makes you the easiest person to sacrifice when things go south.
I found this intriguing. I didn't even know she was fired, and even though she is at fault for her decision-making to be a loyalist, I think we are far worse off with a new male elected defense attorney. I think you made a great point that Trump viewed and views Bondi as a liability and inferior to be the Attorney General. However, she was tasked with a incredibly controversial and intense job of redacting the info in the files to protect Trump. I think this new former general that is soon to be elected will only be more of a loyalist and allow Trump or other corrupt officials to escape accountability for their illegal actions.
