Relay for Life Saturday April 11!!!!

Relay For Life of Coastal Carolina University |
This Saturday is Coastal Carolina University’s big Relay For Life event, and I am really excited about it!!!! CCU Relay For Life is part of a national student led program where college students come together to raise money and awareness to help end cancer through the American Cancer Society. I think it is so cool that our campus is involved in something this meaningful, and it makes me even more proud knowing that Coastal is the second top college team in the nation. The event itself lasts 12 hours and is full of fun things to do, like games, activities, and vendors set up all around campus. It is such a good way to bring people together while supporting an important cause. For me, Relay For Life means even more because my grandmother is currently battling breast cancer. Seeing her go through this and fight every single day has made this cause very personal to me. It has shown me how strong someone can be, even when things are really hard, and it has made me realize how important it is to support research and organizations that are working to find a cure. Events like this bring people together, create a sense of community, and give hope to families who are going through the same thing. I really believe that even just showing up can make a difference. Whether you have been personally affected by cancer or not, I think Relay For Life is an amazing event to support and be a part of.

  2. I think this event is an amazing one that Coastal participants in because of the amount of involvement it gets. We raise so much money for a cause that so many people are impacted by, whether that may be they had cancer or know someone who did/does.

  3. Hello Emily! Thank you so much for posting this as your weekly discussion. I have personally never been to a Rally for Life, but your blog post inspired me to maybe try. I am not a runner by any means but I am willing to try again for a good cause. I am sending the best of wishes to your grandmother, you, and your entire family. Thank you again.
