Earth Day!

Earth Day is coming up on Wednesday, April 22, and I think its a good time to think about the Earth and how we treat it every day. Earth Day reminds me that even small actions can help the planet in important ways. I used to think helping the environment meant doing something really big or having a lot of money or power, but now I understand that it can start with simple choices we make every day. Things like recycling paper and plastic, using less single-use plastic, turning off lights when we leave a room, and saving water when brushing teeth or washing hands can all help over time. Even small habits like using a reusable water bottle, bringing your own bag to the store, or walking or riding a bike to class instead of always driving or taking the shuttle can help reduce pollution and waste. The Earth gives us so many important things like clean air, water, trees, animals, and food, but sometimes people forget to appreciate it or take care of it the way they should. Earth Day is a reminder to be more thankful and more responsible for how we live so we dont harm the planet. It also helps people pay attention to bigger problems like pollution, climate change, and animals losing their homes because of humans building and cutting down forests. These problems can feel really big and scary, but it is still important to talk about them because they affect everyone, not just one group of people. Its important to remember one person cannot fix everything alone, small actions still matter because they can inspire other people to care too and start doing better things as well. On Earth Day, simple things like picking up trash, planting a flower or tree, reusing items instead of throwing them away, or even just learning more about the environment can make a difference. Earth Day is not just one day, but a reminder to keep trying every day to take care of the planet we all share!!

I agree that Earth Day is a good reminder that even small everyday actions like recycling, saving water, and reducing plastic use can add up and help protect the planet. It’s also true that caring for the environment isn’t about doing something huge once, but about making better habits over time.
