Zootopia 2

I've been wanting to watch Zootopia 2 for a while since I'm a fan of the first movie, and it just released on Disney+, so I just watched it today! I found the themes of the movie to be incredibly important with everything going on in our country currently. It tells a story about how reptiles and water animals were pushed out of the city and their history erased from memory. With everything going on relating to immigration enforcement, there's a lot to be said about this poignant metaphor. It's similar to the first movie, in that it tells a story about a specific group of animals that society has deemed "dangerous" and follows Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde as they try to fix it. The movie has also been compared to the Israeli-Palestine conflict over land and displacement of groups of people. I found the movie hilarious, incredibly topical, and thought it had well executed messaging.

    I really didn't care to watch this movie, but I like how you connected the theme to real world issues and you explained how the movie did a good job using humor to share important messages because I feel like when I was forced to watch it with my nephews I didn't really catch on to this.

    I love allegorical movies, there is always a deeper meaning even if it is dominated for kids and even if it isn't something that is literally put directly front and center, I've heard this was a good movie I haven't gotten the time to watch it but I'm sure there is so much context that can be connected to the real life events.

    I liked how Zootopia 2 talks about serious problems in a fun way. The story of the reptiles and water animals being pushed out makes you think about real-world unfairness. I also liked seeing Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde working together to fight against wrong ideas about others.

    My roommate and I watched this the other day when it was put on streaming. We loved it and how there is a woman who is dominant instead of the man and how they work well together.

    I watched this movie recently and my roommates and I really liked it. I think the Zootopia movies are a really good product of Disney and steer away from the typical princess movie that people think of.

    When me and my friends went to see this in the theatre I remember after the movie we all thought the movie was really interesting and just how you can connect it to real world.

A Heated Rivalry or Wicked Misogyny?

 As someone who may hold bias to the extent that I refuse to watch Heated Rivalry, I think it's important to state that I've seen a couple of episodes, and the show just isn't for me. I've also watched both the Wicked movies starring Cynthia Erivo and Arianna Grande. Now you are probably wondering what these two media films have in common. Well, nothing to be exact, and I think that's the preface we must state first.  This isn't about the series/movies, it's about the co-stars, but first, here's a little context you may need to understand where I am coming from. Arianna Grande plays in the musical adaptation of Wicked and Wicked for Good, directed by Jon M. Chu. Intro/Post-Grad Plans!

Hi everyone, My name is Emily Webb, and I’m from Frederick, Maryland. I am a senior majoring in Digital Culture & Design with a double minor in Graphic Design and Social Media. I am currently finishing up my applications for Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) programs in Technology Education or Art Education. My goal is to become a secondary teacher for digital arts courses. I am excited about combining my love for digital media with teaching and helping students develop both creative and technical skills. Outside of school, I enjoy crafting with my Cricut.
