Zach Bryan

I was curious about what people thought of and heard about Zach Bryan. He has had a few controversies in the past. He has been accused of abusing his ex-girlfriend, but I don’t know much about the details. The recent reason some people haven’t liked him is because he has an anti-ICE lyric in one of his recent songs. I don’t know if that is exactly what I would call it, but he then went on to say he doesn’t agree with either side and critisized both parties in the song and that he loves the USA. I don’t typically keep up with internet things going on, but I was listening to one of his songs and someone said they didn’t like him for something he had done, so I was just curious what everyone thought. I do personally like his music outside of anything controversial that has happened. He also rides a motorcycle that I really like.

    To be honest, I cannot stand this guy, from him pressuring his girlfriend and controlling her, and making her sign a 12 million dollar NDA to keep her from speaking about the relationship, says a lot about what he has to hide. On top of this, she isn't the first girlfriend of his (ex) to come out and talk about his abusive tendencies. The recent political controversy stems from his song where he talks about how Ice is gonna come bust down your door and how kids are scared and all alone, which initially put his whole MAGA fan base in an emotional breakdown because he is being a "traitor" but realistically him releasing those lyrics doesn't erase the damage done, this was the same guy at a Trump parade and praised him after Trumps assassination "stunt". To be fair you can't lyric your way out of a histroy of abuse, a song about the struggles of what immigrants and people of our county have to go through after you endorced the main cause doesn't fix the damage done to the women in his life or reconcile his public support for the very leaders who championed the policies he now is singing agaisnt.

    I was literally just talking about him the other day with my friends. Personally, I do like his music and my first tattoo was inspired by his song "Sun to Me". I do not agree completely agree with who he as a person. I can appreciate the sacrifices he made while he served in the Navy for 8 years while also being very much against the way he has treated his past girlfriends. Zach Bryan is very much an artist where I have to separate the art from the artist.

    Hello! Thank you again for choosing this topic for your weekly blog post. I will say I know very few things about this man besides bad things. I do not believe in domestic violence nor do I believe putting an Anti-ICE lyric in a song is enough for reparations, but anyone deserved a redemption arc if they have put in consistent work. Thank you again!

    In my opinion, I love his music, and I want to go to one of his concerts one day, but I also agree that he is not the best person overall

A Heated Rivalry or Wicked Misogyny?

 As someone who may hold bias to the extent that I refuse to watch Heated Rivalry, I think it's important to state that I've seen a couple of episodes, and the show just isn't for me. I've also watched both the Wicked movies starring Cynthia Erivo and Arianna Grande. Now you are probably wondering what these two media films have in common. Well, nothing to be exact, and I think that's the preface we must state first.  This isn't about the series/movies, it's about the co-stars, but first, here's a little context you may need to understand where I am coming from. Intro/Post-Grad Plans!

Hi everyone, My name is Emily Webb, and I’m from Frederick, Maryland. I am a senior majoring in Digital Culture & Design with a double minor in Graphic Design and Social Media. I am currently finishing up my applications for Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) programs in Technology Education or Art Education. My goal is to become a secondary teacher for digital arts courses. I am excited about combining my love for digital media with teaching and helping students develop both creative and technical skills. Outside of school, I enjoy crafting with my Cricut.
