International Women’s Day

On March 8, 2026, it was International Women's Day. Around the world, there were many protests as well as many marches that were happening around the world. Women were trying to remind individuals of how women are still facing unfair treatment. Many of the protests and marches focused on education, equal pay, reproductive rights, safety, and even equality in the workplace. During the marches that happened in Brazil, as well as Mexico city they protested gender-based violence for women to have safer lives. Some of the protesters carried signs and wore purple to serve for justice and dignity. They also made it known for people to be aware of the women who have been abused/assaulted, and even killed.  This made the marches way more than just a celebration of their gender, but also a way to voice their opinions about violence and inequality that women have been facing.
