Beautiful Boy

I now know that some of you guys have strong feelings about Timothee Chalamet, so I do apologize, but I just watched Beautiful Boy starring Chalamet and I quite enjoyed it. I am a huge sad movie/ show enjoyer, so this was kind of right up my alley. This film is about Nic Sheff who becomes addicted to drugs in his teens, mainly meth. It follows Nic and his dad/ family as he becomes more and more helpless. It is incredibly sad watching him relapse over and over. His dad tries to help him again and again just to finally realize that he can’t help his son. The most heartbreaking part for me was watching the little siblings wonder where Nic was and why he couldn’t come home. This film is based on a true story of a father and son who have written their own memoirs about addiction and struggling with drugs.

  1. Timothee Chalamet aside, I think this film is amazing. Not only is the acting great, but the storyline is one that I haven't really ever seen before! It told a story that I think is relatable for a lot of people and can make them feel seen and understood.

  2. this film has stayed one of my favorites since it released!! the portrayal of addiction and timothees acting really showed how emotional it can be to go through such a hard addiction/relapse as well. it definitely makes me cry every time i still watch it.
