Where the Crawdads Sing
I recently got to watch the movie " Where the Crawdads Sing" and I will say it was probably one of my favorite true story movies i've seen and it made me want to read the book as well. I think the actress did a very good job becoming Kya Clark and what she had to go through. She grows up isolated in the deep marshes of North Carolina after she is abandoned by her whole family. As she grows up she learns how to survive on her own. Kya forms a deep connection with the nature as she struggles with loneliness, love, and society's judgement. The story goes back and forth between the story of her past as she is claimed to have been connected to a murder in the small town. The townspeople call her "Marsh Girl" and haven't gotten to know her or even reach out to her to help her. I think this movie is a great depiction of how women were treated in the 50s and 60s. She was treated differently because of where she lived.

I agree that Where the Crawdads Sing is a powerful movie. The actress did a great job showing Kya’s strength and loneliness. The way people judged her without knowing her story shows how unfairly women and outsiders were treated during that time.
