Dunkin' Super Bowl Commercial

 "Good Will Dunkin'"YouTube · Dunkin'1 week ago

The advertisement I chose to look at this week is the Super Bowl commercial from the Super Bowl last week. I find this commercial interesting as it is based in the 80s-90s era of Dunkin'. The commercial shows stars like Matt LeBlanc, Jennifer Aniston, and Tom Brady among others. At one point we see Jasmine Guy sitting at a table where she says "I will marry the first guy that can help me with the Fibonacci sequence" and all of the guys at the table next to her jump up and run over to help. At one point, the guy playing Jennifer Anistons boyfriend pulls out a picture of her from her Friends days in the early 2000s. Later in the ad, Jennifer Aniston shows up with Tom Brady declaring him her new boyfriend. I find this interesting as she looks the same in the photo as she did on camera and Tom Brady looks like himself from a few years ago rather than now. The other celebrities in the commercial do not look as young as Aniston and Brady do which poses the question of were they in the commercial via AI or did they just have a lot of makeup on to make them look like their younger selves?

  1. The ad was such fun satire of Ben Affleck and Matt Damon's Good Will Hunting movie. I don't know if AI was used or not. I just liked the references to the tv sitcoms that aired during the 1990s. Dunkin Donuts is a hometown favorite and Good Will Hunting was filmed in Boston, and Affleck and Damon are also from the Boston area.

  2. I'm not sure if this was AI or not. I think there was definitely some retouching, but I do believe cameras and lighting can really make someone appear to look different.
