Dr. Foster
This may be a bit niche, as this is not a very recent or mainstream show, but I know of this show from my mom. She watched it years ago, and a few weeks ago, I decided to watch it myself. Doctor Foster is a British series from 2015 (very old). The premise was on a woman who seemed to have it all, but found out her husband was having an affair. She was a well-loved doctor, loving husband and son, and plenty of friends. But she became suspicious when she found hair on her husband's scarf (a very well-known trope). Things spiraled, and she found out the woman he was having an affair with was a lady in college. He's almost in his 30s, and she is new to college and life, which is despicable. I did not like this show really, because while it framed Foster in the right, everyone around her was so rude and covering up the affair!! EVERY man she met was known to have cheated at least once. It made cheating seem like something natural that every man does, and that it is the job of the wife to keep him. Which is NEVER the correct way. I remember in the show that she had to sleep with a neighbor so she could get tax information for a divorce. She had everything prepared for the divorce and was going to leave her husband, but once his mother died, she decided to stop and repair her family. There was talk of the mistress being pregnant, and the mistress wanted it gone, while the cheater wanted it. One thing that tipped me off for everyone being against her was that the mother knew of the affair, and so did Foster's coworker. Literally, her husband told her coworker about the things happening and lied about the duration. It was thought to be 6 months, while the mother said it was 2 years. The neighbor Foster cheated with also had a wife and cheated often. After they cheated, horrible things started happening to Foster, such as being given made-up reviews about her at her job, supposedly murdering her husband's mother, and various other things. It was found to be the neighbor's wife, and she was mad that she cheated while?? Allowing her husband to cheat. Everyone was just horrible and overall not as pro-women as it presented. Horrible experience 0/10, but I do encourage someone else to watch or mention seeing this.
I think I’ll take your review and run with it. I feel like I’d share an unenjoyable review as well due the cheating and lack of clarity from friends and even family. If I had to go through what she did then I’d lose my mind. I suppose I’ll dabble.
