How I met your mother

The show How I Met Your Mother is one of my favorite pop culture comfort shows by far. It portrays a storyline that focuses on friendship, romance, and adulthood in many different ways in each episode. During some of the episodes, you can find funny things they say to each other, and then the next, they are talking about something serious. In this show, there is a character named Barney. Barney is portrayed to be seen as confident and very masculine in what he does throughout the show. In the show, he is known for his suits, catchphrases, the "bro code," and getting every single woman he speaks to. With his attitude towards women, single women are seen as trophies and a puzzle that he needs to break to win them over and bring them to his apartment. As well as how he is portrayed as a white, straight, very wealthy man, it helps him in a way "escape" the problems that the other characters face in the show. His image to a larger society can be seen as a man who is fairly put together, who can get whatever he wants because of where he is in life. Barney can be seen as a type of symbol of pop culture, and how people can criticize their own ideas about gender and culture. How I Met Your Mother seized a time when shows on TV were self-aware of what they were saying and doing, and how different characters can relate to your life or people in your life, and it stuck with a lot of people and kind of influenced pop culture in the end. I also hated how the show ended, btw.
