Heated Rivalry

My most recent pop culture obsession has been heated rivalry obviously for many reasons. The story follows a slow burn type of romance between two hockey players who rarely play each other but basically hook up every time they do. Obviously, that is why a lot of people are watching it, but I genuinely appreciate the fact that issues like this that are usually more lowkey are coming to light in a show like this that people will actually watch. By putting serious issues like this into shows that almost romanticize sex or help coin the term "sex sells," is unfortunately a really good way to get attention on pressing issues. I also just love that this show was made basically from nothing being that both of the actors aren't people ive seen before but hope to see in more shows similar and dissimilar in the future. I am super excited that its been renewed for three seasons and am even more excited to see how they take this story to the next level.

    My roommate and I just finished heated rivalry not too long ago, and we enjoyed watching it because I feel like, besides the sex scenes, if you actually pay attention to the timeline, they have been hiding it for years because they did not want to be bullied and judged for what they were doing. Which is so sad to think about, and how they had to secretly hide it from everyone, even their parents. I just fell in love with this show in an instant, and I cannot wait to watch the rest of the show when it comes out!!!

A Heated Rivalry or Wicked Misogyny?

 As someone who may hold bias to the extent that I refuse to watch Heated Rivalry, I think it's important to state that I've seen a couple of episodes, and the show just isn't for me. I've also watched both the Wicked movies starring Cynthia Erivo and Arianna Grande. Now you are probably wondering what these two media films have in common. Well, nothing to be exact, and I think that's the preface we must state first.  This isn't about the series/movies, it's about the co-stars, but first, here's a little context you may need to understand where I am coming from. Arianna Grande plays in the musical adaptation of Wicked and Wicked for Good, directed by Jon M. Chu. Intro/Post-Grad Plans!

Hi everyone, My name is Emily Webb, and I’m from Frederick, Maryland. I am a senior majoring in Digital Culture & Design with a double minor in Graphic Design and Social Media. I am currently finishing up my applications for Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) programs in Technology Education or Art Education. My goal is to become a secondary teacher for digital arts courses. I am excited about combining my love for digital media with teaching and helping students develop both creative and technical skills. Outside of school, I enjoy crafting with my Cricut.
