11.22.63 (Blog Post 2)

I recently began watching the series, “11.22.63”, based off the Stephen King book. I have not watched very much of it, but the basic idea is that a young teacher travels back in time to 1960 and tries to prevent the assassination of JFK. Right off the bat he enters what appears to be a “Men’s only” bar to make bets. He also stops for gas and to use the restroom and gets told he is headed in the "wrong direction" because the “White only” restroom is behind him. We get to see this character’s reactions to these racist and sexist places. Although we know historically what has happened in the past, it is still a whole new thing to experience it, especially because he was born well after the 60s. As someone who has always enjoyed time-travel shows, I am excited to see where this series goes. I do always critique time-travel shows and movies pretty harshly which is funny because I obviously do not know how time-travel would work if it existed in real life. So far, I would definitely recommend this show.
